This GGA tour showcases how philanthropy is helping people in coastal Georgia work together to adapt and thrive in an increasingly challenging future. We will talk with local leaders about how the region’s history frames today’s issues, which approaches are effective for building resilience, the role of policy, and what goals lie ahead. We will get up-close with the natural beauty of the Altamaha River, coastal marshes, and the Atlantic Ocean. The early spring is a perfect time to gather in coastal Georgia, long prized as a retreat, and deepen our knowledge and relationships.

On Thursday, March 5, an optional tour begins with lunch at the Musgrove Retreat Center on St. Simons Island followed by a guided boat excursion on the Altamaha River and a visit to Little St. Simons Island. The primary program will be held on Friday, March 6, at the Jekyll Island Club and includes a tour of downtown Brunswick and workshops for those interested in active projects.
