The Future of Mobility in Atlanta:
What Role Will Philanthropy Play?

 Friday, February 9, 2018 · 12:00pm–1:30pm (ET)
Venkman's · 740 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE · Atlanta, GA 30312

Co-hosted by the Turner Foundation and The Kendeda Fund

2018 will be an exciting year for mobility in Metro Atlanta. Several local governments recently approved funding for transit, and more local governments are seriously considering it. Technologies such as electric vehicles, autonomous cars and technology-enabled “mobility on demand” are dramatically changing the transportation sector. At the same time, low-tech mobility options such as putting one foot in front of the other and bicycling are gaining momentum as we work to create a network of paths and trails in Atlanta. Even if you don’t consider yourself a transportation funder, we hope you’ll participate as mobility affects health, equity, air and water quality, education, livability and the economy in Metro Atlanta.

Please join us for a conversation about the future of mobility in Atlanta and the role of philanthropy. We’ll hear from local leaders as well as from the Boston-based Barr Foundation.

Speakers:

Doug Hooker, Executive Director, Atlanta Regional Commission
Mary Skelton Roberts, Co-Director of Climate, Barr Foundation
Judy Adler, President & Treasurer, Turner Foundation (moderator)
