Atlanta Foundations Forum
Equity, Mobility, Nature & Atlanta’s Future
Tuesday, October 3, 2017 · 12:00pm–1:30pm (ET)

Co-hosted by the Turner Foundation, The Kendeda Fund
and the Rockefeller Foundation

The next gathering of the Atlanta Foundations Forum will be the first of a planned series addressing equity, mobility, nature and the future of Atlanta – and what role philanthropy will play.

Atlanta is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country; some estimate that by 2050 the population could exceed 9 million. On Tuesday, October 3, we will have a special opportunity to hear from urban designer Ryan Gravel and Tim Keane, commissioner of Atlanta’s Department of City Planning, on their vision for how Atlanta could develop over the next 25-50 years.

The Atlanta City Design project is grounded by five core values – ambition, nature, access, progress and equity – and seeks to promote strategic development in our city.

Additionally, we will hear from Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, who in 2016 was named chief resilience officer for the City of Atlanta after the city joined the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities network. Stephanie will provide a sneak preview of the full resiliency strategy her office will unveil later this fall.

Featured Speakers:
Ryan Gravel, Urban Designer
Tim Keane, Commissioner, Office of City Planning, City of Atlanta
Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, Chief Resilience Officer, City of Atlanta
Moderated by: Tené Traylor, Fund Advisor, The Kendeda Fund
